Planning Engineers

Planning engineers determine and develop the most appropriate and economically viable construction and engineering methods for the projects. They are involved during the development phases and are present on site during construction to follow the procedures. It is the responsibility of the planning engineer to estimate a timescale for a project and to ensure that the established deadlines are met. They work closely with site administrators and other engineers to ensure that a project is completed on time and that supplies of equipment are sufficient.

Decide on the most appropriate engineering techniques and activity sequences for each stage of the project.
Drawing plans; using specialised design software packages.
Make sure the plans meet customer specifications.
Make time and cost estimates.
Supervise the project at all stages and provide solutions to problems.
Collaborate with site administrators, surveyors, engineers, site workers and other professionals.
Organisation of material transport.
Make sure the procedures are done safely.
